New baby is one of the first residents at a new development in Cottenham, Cambridgeshire
The first occupants at a new housing development in Cottenham settled into their new home just weeks after the arrival of their baby girl.
Soon to be starting a new family, Cambridgeshire locals Gerard and Lucy O’Mahony had been determined to upsize and move closer to their family in Cottenham in time to welcome their new daughter.
The O’Mahonys celebrated the birth of Indie on March 8 and moved into their new home at Bellway’s Bower Place weeks later on March 29.
Not only were the family among the first residents to move into the development, but they were also among the first customers of Bellway’s new Eastern Counties division.
Gerard (45) and Lucy (30) – who were previously living in a four-bedroom home in Longstanton – bought off-plan after making a reservation on a five-bedroom Stanbridge home at the beginning of December last year.
Gerard said: “During a drive around the local area, Lucy and I came across Bower Place and couldn’t resist taking a trip to visit the development.
“The generous house sizes along with the quality of builds were ideal for us and drew us in immediately.
“During our visits, we received great service from the three sales advisors, who did their best to ensure we had everything we needed during our reservation period.”
He added: “We believe our new home will make a lovely place to settle down, the area is great and will be perfect for raising our daughter.
“It’s very convenient how close we are to everything we need.
“We’re based on the edge of the village, with excellent transport links needed for my work on the outskirts of Nottingham at Pedigree Wholesale and Lucy’s work in Biggleswade at Associated British Foods.
“We are delighted with our decision to move here.”
