Park Street car park in Cambridge to temporarily close

Park Street car park in Cambridge will close for three days next month to allow a crane to be removed.

The car park, which reopened in November following a major redevelopment of the site to include an aparthotel, will close early in the morning of Wednesday, 5 March.

It is expected to reopen on Saturday, 8 March, Cambridge City Council said. The closure is to allow the removal of a crane, which cannot take place when the car park is in use.

A spokesperson for the city council said: “Any vehicles still parked in the car park when it closes on Wednesday morning will be able to leave as normal.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this work causes.”

The redeveloped car park has 223 underground car parking spaces including 23 active EV charging spaces, and 200 passive EV charging spaces.

There is also secure parking for 239 bicycles, 10 oversized bicycles, and 20 motorcycles, with the design of the space developed in collaboration with Camcycle. There are 16 blue badge parking spaces, two of which are EV charging spaces.
