Neighbourhood officers were acting on intelligence received from members of the public, as well as recent incidents of Xanax, a controlled class C drug, being dealt in the area.

Officers attended an address in Glebe Lane where they seized class C drugs including Xanax and weapons including knives and a baseball bat.

An 18-year-old man has been voluntarily interviewed for drug offences. He has since been released under investigation.

Sergeant Rob Taylor from the South Cambs Neighbourhood Team said: “Xanax is a prescription drug, which in the wrong hands and when mixed with other drugs, could prove fatal.

“I would urge the community to continue to report any information they have around drug dealing and misuse.”
