Premier Travel working to help its customers after 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar




An independent travel agency is reassuring customers impacted by the earthquake in Myanmar that staff are working hard to support them.

Premier Travel, which is headquartered in Cambourne, says its priority remains the safety and wellbeing of its customers and staff.

Hundreds are feared dead after a strong 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit central Myanmar today (Friday, 28 March).

The earthquake was also felt and has heavily affected Thailand, with 70 construction workers missing after a building collapsed in the capital Bangkok.

A statement from the company said: “Our team is working hard to ensure our customers are safe and supported. We are working closely with our local partners to provide real-time updates and alternative arrangements where necessary.

“Bangkok Airport remains open for now, and we are monitoring the situation closely amid reports of aftershocks and conflicting information regarding airspace and building damage. Our team is committed to making the process as smooth as possible for our customers, ensuring they have the latest information and support they need.

“We are aware of a Premier Travel booking due to check in, in Bangkok tonight, as well as other scheduled arrivals over the weekend. Our team is actively reviewing these bookings and will work to assist any impacted travellers.

“Premier Travel is in regular contact with local partners to monitor the evolving situation and provide support where needed. We are also closely watching for any potential aftershocks that may cause further disruption.

“Our priority remains the safety and well-being of our customers and staff. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.”
