Show of support for key workers as Storey's Field Centre and Imperial War Museum are turned blue
Storey's Field Centre was turned blue in a show of solidarity with key workers last Thursday.
The award-winning building in Eddington was lit up by The Crane Event, Pink Lamp and JMPS, following the efforts the previous week to light up King's College.
"We’ve hosted many events at Storey’s Field Centre in the past and wanted to highlight the community-spirited connection Eddington has with the city, whilst bringing something special to the residents to enjoy from the safety of their homes," said Justin Crane of The Crane Event
JMPS director James Merrigan, who used their speciality in projections, said: “With our diary clear for the foreseeable future, I can’t think of a better use of our time than showing admiration for the NHS and their supporting teams with our involvement in these projects."
Richard Brown, the Storey's Field Centre manager, added: “Storey’s Field Centre salutes our brilliant brave NHS staff, City Council workers keeping the city running and the city’s scientists working on tests, cures and vaccines. We look forward to welcoming everyone back when the danger subsides but for now, Stay Home and Love the NHS."
The Imperial War Museum at Duxford was also turned blue.
#Makeitblue is a national campaign to bring striking visuals to temporarily-redundant venues.
