Specsavers opens in Bar Hill with open day welcome
Specsavers’ new store in Bar Hill opened this week with a party and a welcome from a new rota of experienced staff ready to look after the eyes and ears of Bar Hill.
The Viking Way store has three optical testing rooms and an audiology room for all hearing health checks. All rooms provide enhanced optical services such as cataract pre- and post-op care.
Also in use is an optical coherence tomography (OCT) machine, which takes a 3D structural scan of the eye to help detect eye conditions such as glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy up to four years earlier than traditional methods.
Optometry director Jaanvi Vadher says: “We’ve been looking forward to this day for a while and we are so happy that it’s now here. Our mission is to offer great value and quality to the Bar Hill community, and this goes past providing optical and audiology care.
“We want to be a pillar for the community, assisting local charities, groups and initiatives across the town.”
Clinical director, Kam Dhillon, adds: “We can’t wait to build our own community of customers and people who come to say hi.
“Their support is a big reason why I can have this career, and we want to continue to offer these opportunities for our residents.”
Anyone unable to visit the Specsavers Bar Hill store unaccompanied due to disability or illness may be eligible to care at home via a team of mobile opticians.
The store is open seven days a week, from 9.30 am to 5pm.
