Suspended sentence for Cambridge woman caught with indecent images of children
A Cambridge woman caught with 79 indecent images of children on her phone and tablet has been sentenced.
Officers were alerted when Amy Hunt, 37, of Campkin Court, uploaded an indecent image of a child to Facebook on 6 March 2023.
She was arrested and officers seized her devices and found 38 category A images, 20 category B images and 21 category C images.
Hunt tried to claim the images on her phone and the Facebook upload were the result of her phone being hacked, but no evidence of hacking was found.
Hunt received a one-year jail sentence, suspended for two years, at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on 30 January after pleading guilty to three counts of making indecent photographs of a child.
She was ordered to undertake alcohol treatment and 30 rehabilitation days, sign the Sex Offenders Register and was handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, both for 10 years.
Det Con Zip Lloyd said: “Although Hunt didn’t commit any contact offences, making and sharing images still causes a lot of harm.
“Protecting children and the vulnerable is a force priority and we are doing all we can to put the perpetrators in front of the courts.”
