Tesla gears up to open new service station and showroom in Bar Hill

Electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla is set to open a new service station and showroom on land off Saxon Way, Bar Hill, also known as Bridge House.

Owned by Legal and General and located within an industrial estate containing various business units, the site is well separated from residential areas. Tesla representatives attended a parish council meeting last Thursday (January 19).

The Rev Anthony Mitchell, a resident of Bar Hill, said the reaction from the community to Tesla coming has been “surprisingly positive.”

He added: “There were concerns that were raised during the open forum about traffic, because obviously we’ve had tailbacks on that road before. But Legal and General said that the cars would be timed, so they’d be booked into slots – so you wouldn’t end up with a situation in the morning with all the cars turning up to be repaired.

“Another resident was concerned about jobs for the local community, and they said that they would try and hire locally where possible.”

Rev Mitchell notes that Tesla hopes to start work on the showroom this year, with plans to open it next year.
