Up to 20mm of rain could fall in an hour
The Met Office has issued a Yellow warning for the East of England, advising that heavy thundery showers may cause some travel disruption later today (Friday, June 7).
Flooding of a few homes and businesses is also likely, while spray and flooding on roads may make journey times longer.
Bus and train services will probably also be affected.
While a few places will escape them, some heavy thundery showers will break out during the afternoon and evening - some of which will be quite prolonged.
A few places may see 20mm rain falling within an hour and some spots may receive as much as 30-40 mm in a few hours.
