Balaclava-clad axe-wielding robbers demand cash from tills at Histon Co-op
Three axe-wielding robbers wearing balaclavas demanded money at the Co-op in Histon.
Extra police patrols are now taking place following the armed robbery.
Police were called to the Co-op in Station Road at about 9.45pm on Saturday (31 May) with reports of a robbery taking place.
Three people armed with axes had entered the store wearing balaclavas. They demanded cash from the tills. Money was taken but the exact amount is unknown.
No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing. No one was injured.
Det Sgt James Rabbett, from the Southern Acquisitive Crime Team, said: “We are aware this is not the first incident of its kind in the area and we understand this is very concerning for those involved and the local communities.
“We have a team working to investigate this robbery and the other incidents and we’re keeping an open mind as to whether they are linked. Extra patrols are also taking place in the area.”
