Two people have died in a collision on the A1198 near Bassingbourn today (Tuesday).

Police, firefighters and the ambulance service were called at about 11.35am with reports of a collision involving three vehicles on the A-road between Whaddon and Bassingbourn.

Cambridgeshire Constabulary has confirmed that two people have died.

The road is likely to remain closed for some time. Diversions are in place.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw the vehicles in the moments leading up to the incident.

In particular, they would also like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time with dash cam footage.
