Watch as Barbie & Ken lockdown wedding is captured by Cambridgeshire photographer
Craig Howkins has become a photographer to the stars - by capturing the lockdown wedding of the year.
The hospitality and wedding industry has been particularly hard hit by the coronavirus pandemic, with the lockdown and the government’s three phases of lifting restrictions unlikely to showing any signs of easing until early to mid-summer, at the earliest.
Craig had been struggling to fill the absence caused by the loss of his profession so took matters into his own hands - by capturing a magical day in the world of Barbie and Ken.
“I’m a wedding photographer and because all weddings are postponed, I am not able to work at the moment. Next to loss of income, it also means I got lots of time. And I miss weddings! So I needed to find a way to do my job and entertain at the same time.
“Because of the lockdown most people and sectors are still not able to go to work, especially the hospitality and wedding industry will most likely be closed for several more months,” said Craig, whose company is Howkins Photography.
“I came up with a funny alternative way to photograph a wedding while staying safe at home and without getting in touch with other people: I have photographed the wedding of Barbie & Ken and made a‘Behind the Scenes’video as I do for most of my weddings which I post on my Facebook page and Youtube channel.”
