Waterbeach Post Office reopens after two-month closure
Waterbeach Post Office reopened on Monday (December 18) after more than two months with a new postmaster.
The Post Office, at 9 Chapel Street, will open from Monday to Friday, 9am to 7pm, and from 9am to 4pm on Saturdays.
It closed on October 13 following the resignation of the postmaster.
Wendy Hamilton, Post Office network provision lead, said: “We are delighted to have restored Post Office services to Waterbeach as we know how important a Post Office is to a community. I know that the local community will join me in welcoming this good news and hope that our customers will continue to use this service.”
It will offer the same range of services as before.
Lucy Frazer, the Conservative MP for South East Cambridgeshire, said: "Many of my constituents rely on the services provided by the Post Office every day, especially those who are elderly or vulnerable, for whom it is not easy to access another branch.
"That's why I was disappointed to hear in October that the Waterbeach branch would close.
"Having written to the Royal Mail Group to call on them to reinstate their important services, I am delighted that they have now put measures in place to reopen.”
