National Highways said: “Our works on M11 Junction 8 will replace waterproofing material that has reached its end of life, and is no longer protecting the concrete structure of the bridge. These are essential works to ensure the life-span of the bridges at this junction.
“We are also carrying out essential resurfacing, road marking and drainage renewal between Junction 7 and Junction 10. This will keep the road in a safe and serviceable condition.
“Essex Highways are carrying out works to increase capacity and help meet future network demand on Junction 8 of the M11, by widening the A120 signalised junction. These works are separate to the ones we are carrying out.”
An earlier phase of the work by National Highways was completed last year.
