Woman and boy die after their car is found submerged in a pond in Cambridgeshire




A woman and a boy have died after their car was found submerged in a pond.

It is not known how long the vehicle had been in the water next to to Old Oundle Road, to the rear of RAF Wittering.

The child was taken to hospital but later died.

Cambridgeshire police were called at 6.20pm on Saturday (September 3) with reports that a blue Ford Focus had been spotted in the water.

Police, fire crews and paramedics attended and the woman and child were removed from the vehicle.

The boy was taken to hospital for treatment, but later died. The woman died at the scene.

Their identities have yet to be released.
