Woman fights for life after car collides with roadworks and van in Ely




A woman is fighting for her life in hospital after a collision in Ely on Monday night (14 April).

The woman, in her 30s, was driving a black Vauxhall Astra on Queen Adelaide Way, just before the railway bridge, at 11.24pm when she collided with a roadworks taper, a bollard and then a white Iveco van.

She was cut from her car by firefighters and taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where she remains in a critical condition. No-one else was injured.

Police have launched an investigation and urged anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
