Family pay tribute to woman who lost her life in three-car collision near Melbourn

The family of woman killed in a three-car collision say she dedicated her life to helping others.

Joy Harrild, 26, of Royston, a dentist at Brookfields Community Dental Services in Seymour Street, off Mill Road, in Cambridge, was killed when her blue Ford Kia was in collision with two other vehicles on Tuesday morning, December 6.

The family statement read: “Joy was the brightest and kindest of us all. We are incredibly proud of the person she was and all that she achieved.

“An avid lover of the outdoors and baker of every birthday cake, Joy dedicated her life to helping others. She was passionate about her work and was at the heart of our family. We will miss her every day and will never forget the love she gave us all.”

The collision, which happened at about 9.30am, involved her car, a black Ford KA and a grey Audi TT on the A505 near Flint Cross, Melbourn.

The driver of the Audi TT, a 52-year-old man, suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries and was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital where he remains.

The driver of the other Ford KA, a 21-year-old woman, was uninjured, as was a 70-year-old woman who was driving a fourth vehicle, a silver Vauxhall Zafira, which was hit by debris from the collision.
