Kyle Knoyle has turned down the offer of a new contract at Cambridge United to join Doncaster Rovers.
The 24-year-old right-back moved to the Abbey Stadium in the summer of 2019, making the switch from Swindon Town.
He has been a big hit with the U’s, making 81 appearances and scoring three goals, including a memorable effort against Crawley Town on the way to the side's promotion from League Two last season.
Knoyle was named in both the EFL and PFA League Two teams of the season, along with Paul Mullin and Wes Hoolahan, and being recognised as the best right-back in the division attracted speculation about his future.
United offered Knoyle a new deal, but he has instead signed a two-year contract with Doncaster Rovers, who will be in Sky Bet League One with the U’s next season.
On social media, Knoyle said: "After 2 incredible years at the club my time has come to an end. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff and players that I've worked with for helping me develop into the player and person I am today; achieving promotion with such a special group is something that I couldn't of imagined.
"It's been a remarkable journey; one that will live with me forever.
"A massive thank you to the amber army for the support you've shown during my time here it's always been appreciated.
"I wish everyone associated with the club the best for the future and will always be looking out for you."
