Next up is Blackheath at home

Pierre Peres and Ashley Elvers scored two tries apiece as Cambridge won 54-7 at Old Albanian in National League One.

The visitors were looking to arrest a run of three successive defeats, and got off to the perfect start as Ean Griffiths touched down in the 11th minute.

Peres got the next two scores – in the 20th and 26th minute – and Jack Green made it three out of three conversions to give Cambridge a 21-0 lead. They wrapped up the half with the try bonus point thanks to Elvers’ first touchdown, with Green’s extras making it 28-0.

Albert Portsmouth got the first try of the second half, before Old Albanian grabbed a converted score.

But tries from Elvers, Jake McCloud and Henry Peck all converted by Green, sealed Cambridge’s win.

Cambridge host Blackheath this Saturday (December 2).
