Luke Berry is denied from the spot

Cambridge United were denied all three points at the Cambs Glass Stadium as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Blackpool in Sky Bet League Two.

Leon Legge hit the post with a header inside 10 minutes, and then Blackpool keeper Sam Slocombe twice denied George Maris in the first half.

But the visitors went close through Brad Potts’ deflected effort which hit the chest of U’s keeper Will Norris before the rebound was hit over by Mark Cullen.

After half time, Norris did well to deny Andy Taylor from a free kick.

The U’s had a good chance to take the lead when Conor Newton was pulled back in the box by Tom Aldred, an offence which earned the Blackpool man a red card.

But Luke Berry’s penalty was well saved by Slocombe, who then thwarted James Dunne and Berry again to help earn his side a point.

However, the point saw the U’s move up a place to eighth in the table.
