Cambridge United turn the clock back 30 years for new home kit

Cambridge United have taken a retro approach to their new home kit.

The U's have launched their shirt for the 2022/23 season and it is inspired by the design shirt that they wore during the 1991/92 and 1992/93 seasons, but with a modern twist.

It has been an instant hit with supporters on social media.

Working closely with technical partners hummel, the fully sublimated front panel incorporates a diagonal geometric design in a deeper shade of amber to add a modern element to the retro-inspired jersey.

The shirt is constructed using a new hummel silhouette for 2022/23, with chevron shaped underarm ventilation panels in black, and the manufacturers chevrons at the top of the sleeves.

It is a round-neck rib design with a contrast tipping edge, CUFC neck tape compliments the retro Cambridge United neck print on the inside of the shirt and is made using its patented ECO8 technology.

Mick George, now in their 10th year working with the club, is on the front of the shirt, whilst The Hill Group once again feature as the back-of-shirt sponsor.

The shorts feature a new design with angled mesh insert panels to mimic the panels on the shirt.

Adult shirts are available in eight sizes - small, medium, large, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL and 5XL - and cost £45.

Junior shirts cost £35 and are available for 7-8 years, 9-10 years, 11-12 years, 13-14 years, while the home mini kit also costs £35 and is available for those aged 0-6 months, 6-12 months, 12-18 months, 2-3 years, 3-4 years and 5-6 years.
