Cambridgeshire Under-18s win Anglian League for the first time with comprehensive victory over Leicestershire and Rutland
Three Gog Magog Golf Club players helped Cambridgeshire Under-18s to make history last week.
Jake Plumb, Ellis Kerr and Harry Sherriff were all part of the side that defeated defending champions Leicestershire and Rutland in the final of the Anglian League.
The 11-1 victory, which included a whitewash during the singles part of the match up at Staverton Park in Northamptonshire, saw Cambridgeshire get their hands on the trophy for the first time in the competition’s 43-year history.
Following that success, Plumb, who won his singles contest 6&5, jetted off to America to start his golfing scholarship.
The England international’s first outing on the other side of the Atlantic came at TPC Sawgrass in the Junior Players Championship, where he shot an eye-catching 67.
