Cambs Police FC are kitted out by Mick George
Sponsorship boosts returning team
Cambs Police FC have been brought back to life after a brief hiatus, and have received backing from Mick George.
They were reformed in 2011 by PS Craig Flavell and had enjoyed success at the PSUK National Cup and the World Police Indoor Soccer Tournament.
But there was a transition period from 2014 where they were not involved in any competition and were without a manager until PC Josh Williams took over in autumn 2016.
They have since taken part in friendly matches against other police forces, Cambridgeshire Fire Service, Cambridge University and other sides.
Cambs Police FC have now received sponsorship from Cambridgeshire-based company Mick George, enabling them to purchase kit.
“The team are very proud to wear the new kit and hope that the link with the well-respected and reputable company will be a long and successful one,” said Williams.
But they were were beaten 1-0 by Thames Valley Police in the PSUK National Cup, their first competitive game since Williams took charge.
