Cameron Ruddock try earns Cambridge losing bonus point against Birmingham Moseley
And Shelford and Cantabrigian are also beaten
Cameron Ruddock’s try helped earn Cambridge a second losing bonus point in a row as they were beaten 22-15 at home by Birmingham Moseley in National League One.
Jack Green opened the scoring with a penalty for Cambridge after only three minutes.
But James Dixon levelled matters with a kick after 22 minutes.
However, Cambridge went into half time with a 10-3 lead thanks to Louis Rawlings’ try and Green’s conversion.
It was all-square a minute into the second half as Moseley scored a converted try through Michael Penn, with Dixon adding the extras.
Tim Molenaar pounced for Moseley’s second try after 54 minutes, with Dixon converting for a 17-10 lead.
Adam Caves then got their third try after 61 minutes to make it 22-10.
But Ruddock’s score in the 80th minute took Cambridge to within seven points, enough for a bonus point.
In London & SE Premier, Shelford lost 52-0 at Guernsey, while in London 2NE, Cantabs were beaten 12-8 by Ipswich.
All three teams have a blank weekend this Saturday.
