City of Cambridge celebrate National Arena League regional success
City of Cambridge Swimming Club has enjoyed in the East Midlands region of the National Arena League this year, with both its A and B teams producing some great results.
The B team achieved promotion to the Premier Division, where they will join the club's A team in 2019.
Meanwhile, the A team finished third overall in the East Midlands region, and qualified for the B final of the national competition to be held in March next year.
The national competition sees several places reserved for the best teams who do not qualify for it automatically.
City of Cambridge are the first team from the East Midlands to earn a place in the final this way.
Head coach James Freezer said: "I'm really proud of all the swimmers, coaches, officials and parents who have worked so hard this season.
"Having two teams in the Premier Division goes to show the increasing strength and depth of the squad. I look forward to competing against the best teams in the country next March."
