Rachel Clark slammed home a penalty corner to make it 4-0 before Lucy Pendleton weaved her way through the opposition backline and finished into the far corner to complete the scoring.

In the same division, Cambridge City III suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of visiting Ipswich.

City had the ball in the net on three occasions across the contest but only one effort – scored by Chanre Bond – counted.

Cambridge City VI head into the winter break sitting fourth in the East Women’s League Division 3 North West standings following their 4-0 win against Cambridge University IV.

Emily Jerman set City on their way to victory when she broke the deadlock inside the opening 20 seconds.

That was the only goal scored in the first half, but a brace from Sam Surridge and captain Abby Richardson’s slap shot after the restart sealed the win.

Second-placed Cambridge City II are three points adrift of the East Men’s League Division 1 North leaders following their 4-0 home win against Spalding.

Two early goals from Cammy Small put City in command before Robin Edlington found the back of the net against his former club.

And the scoring was completed in the second half by Ben Dudgeon.

In the East Men’s League Division 3 North West, Cambridge City III and Cambridge City IV both chalked up victories.

Goals from David Gibson, Ollie Dalzell and Angus Adams rubber stamped a 3-0 win for the thirds over Long Sutton II, while the fourth team ran out 4-1 winners at Ely City II.

Muhammed Ali opened the scoring with a net-busting drag flick before Geoff Shiers doubled the lead with a well timed run and deflection.

Phil Robinson then capped off a player-of-the-match performance with a brace of goals in the second half of the encounter.

In the East Men’s League Division 4 North West, table-topping Cambridge City V suffered just their second defeat of the season as they lost 5-0 at home to a heavily-loaded Bourne Deeping II outfit.

Despite the loss, City still hold a three-point advantage over second-placed Cambridge University IV going into the winter break, although the student team have a game in hand.
