Cambridge United defender Lloyd Jones wins four end-of-season awards

Lloyd Jones has swept up all of Cambridge United’s end-of-season awards.

The centre-back, who scored four goals from his 41 appearances, came out on top in the public vote to scoop the Cambridge United CFU Player of the Season prize.

And his impressive performances saw him add the BC Radio Cambridgshire Player of the Season, Message Board Player of the Season and Cambridge 105 Radio Player of the Season awards to his collection.

The 27-year-old said: "It's an absolute honour. I've really enjoyed my football this season and although it has been difficult at times, it had a beautiful ending and I couldn't have been happier that we managed to finish the job on Sunday.

"I want to thank everyone that voted for me. It really means a lot to win these awards."

Meanwhile, after returning from a loan stint at Sky Bet League Two side Walsall in January, a series of eye-catching displays from Liam Bennett saw him win the Cambridge 105 Radio Young Player of the Season award.
