Frankie Webb leads the way for Cambridge Dive Team at Ponds Forge

Podium spot earned at National Age Group Diving Championships

Frankie Webb earned two medals as part of the Cambridge Dive Team at the National Age Group Diving Championships in Sheffield.

A squad of six headed to Ponds Forge for the event, and Webb was the star.

Achieving high scores in the Girls’ Group B 1m and 3m events, she missed out on the gold medal by just five points, taking second place.

As well as the two silver medals, Webb also achieved a personal best on the 3m board, with 20 points.

Dominic Jaunzens set a personal best in the Boys’ Group B platform event.

He missed out on a medal by a few points, finishing fourth in a tough competition.

Jaunzens was seventh in the 1m competiton and ninth in the 3m event.

Isabella Given and Malaika Graham were in action in the Girls’ Group C event, and they put in good performances across all the boards.

Given was 13th, 22nd and 23rd in her competitions, and Graham was 33rd and 34th in her events.

Alice Ledzion and Zara Wray were diving alongside Webb in the Girls’ Group B category.

Ledzion was 12th on the platform and 21st and 28th on the other boards, while Wray was 25th on the platform and 21st and 25th in the other disciplines.

Daniel Murphy, Cambridge Dive Team’s coach, said: “This year’s national event has seen the team put in some great performances, scoring new PBs and competing new dives.

“Cambridge’s close-knit team continues to show the diving community that we have the talent and dedication to get onto the podium and achieve some really good scores.”
