Gog Magog Golf Club pair Ed Dimambro and George Howard win Cambridgeshire Foursomes Championships at Ely City Golf Club

Gog Magog Golf Club’s pairing of Ed Dimambro and George Howard once again combined to win the Cambridgeshire Foursomes Championships at the weekend.

The duo, who previously won the title in 2022, were in emphatic form at Ely City Golf Club with a victory margin of nine shots.

Their two rounds, which contained a total of 139 shots, featured nine birdies and just four bogeys.

For Howard, the triumph continued his fine form of late having recently broken the course record on the Gog Magog Wandlebury, while Dimambro came out on top in the amateur Silver Salver at the County Open alongside clinching the John Durman Handicap Trophy at the same event.

Another member of Gog Magog – Teddy Hall – finished as the runner-up alongside his Saffron Walden Golf Club-based partner Richard Southall.

Southall had gone into the event as the defending champion following his success of 12 months ago alongside James Sandford.

But with Sandford unavailable, Southall paired up with Hall and the pair produced an overall score of 148 to take second place.

Meanwhile, the best nett score on the day (147) was produced by the host club’s Ashley Sizer and Ryan Woods.
