Histon secure Danny Gould’s services for 2023/24 season following recovery from ACL injury
Danny Gould has agreed a deal to turn out for Histon next season.
The versatile player has been sidelined since December 2021 after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
However, Gould, who has made 191 appearances for the club since breaking through in 2015, has now recovered and is now looking forward to the 2023/24 campaign.
Gould told the club’s website: “I am over the injury now and just need to get myself 100 per cent fit. I was always going to sign back on with Histon even after 17 months out, as I love the club with it being like family.
“I have always gotten on really well with the supporters and have a special relationship with Lance, Mark and Simon.”
Meanwhile, boss Lance Key added: “Danny will be rejoining the boys for pre-season and this will feel like a new signing, even though he has spent almost all of his time here since his scholarship days.
“What Danny brings is versatility, goals and a high performance level which will only add to our existing squad. We are all so very pleased that Zuko’s journey will continue with us, as I know he will only make us stronger.”
Gould is the second player to have committed to Histon for the upcoming term following the recent confirmation of Ed Rolph’s return.
