Hills Road Sixth Form College celebrate success at rugby 7s tournament in Bishop’s Stortford

Hills Road Sixth Form College started their 7s campaign with victory at last week’s Bishop’s Stortford tournament.

A total of 10 teams took part in the competition, which was hosted by Bishop’s Stortford High School – and it was the students from Hills Road that came out on top.

Hills Road impressed during the pool stages with three victories and a draw, which was an identical record to the hosts.

However, Hills Road topped the standings by virtue of the fact that they had scored more tries.

And after a series of play-off matches during the afternoon, Hills Road once again showed their try-scoring credentials when they ran in five to get the better of London-based Robert Clack School in the final.

The victory was ideal preparation for the Hills Road side ahead of the Northampton Saints 7s tournament early next month, which will be followed by the Rosslyn Park National Schools 7s in London.
