Histon up to eighth in Premier Division South standings after completing double over Easington Sports

Histon moved up to eighth in the United Counties League Premier Division South table after a second victory in recent days over Easington Sports.

On 9 November, Chris Nunn’s side posted a 3-1 win from their trip to Oxfordshire.

And that was followed on Saturday by a 2-1 triumph at the expense of the same opposition.

Luca Cardines’ first goal for the club sent Histon into the break 1-0 up, but the visitors scored a deserved equaliser via Callum Convey after the restart.

However, with time running out the hosting Stutes claimed all three points thanks to Matty Allan, who applied the finishing touch to Luke Crisp’s knockdown.

Histon, who are seven points adrift of the play-off places, will aim to rack up a third straight victory on Saturday (23 November) when they travel to face Northampton Sileby Rangers.

The match will mark Histon’s first without Jake Kerins, who has left the club to go travelling.

The versatile defender was one of Nunn’s first signings after he took charge of the club in October 2023.
