Macao Grand Prix Museum unveils wax figure of Cambridge racer Rob Huff

Rob Huff has been immortalised with a specially commissioned wax figure which was recently unveiled at Madame Tussauds in Hong Kong, with the record-breaking Macau champion’s double now on display at the Macao Grand Prix Museum.

The Cambridge racer travelled to Macau a few weeks ago to be present for the unveiling, which he was measured for back in 2019, with the figure based on his appearance and wearing his race suit from the 2018 Macau season finale of the WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup.

Figures were also produced for drivers who have had an important history at the famous Macau Guia circuit, including Ayrton Senna, Lewis Hamilton, Sebastien Vettel, Ron Haslam, John MacDonald, Edoardo Mortara, and Michael Rutter.

Huff said: “It’s a huge honour for this project to have been together by Madame Tussauds, and the Macao Government Tourism Office. It’s been an amazing thing to be involved in, to see and be involved in the whole process, and seeing what they do to get the wax figure absolutely right.

“I’m very proud to be approached for this by Madame Tussauds, it’s the first time they’ve done anything like this.

“I was asked as I’ve had an incredible history at Macau, which is just one of the most incredible racing circuits in the world, and one which I’ve become very much associated because of my success there, and I also won my world title there, so it has great memories for me.

“I’m really looking forward to being back there later this year, and with the museum being fully open it’ll great as all the international fans will be able to see it when they come to the event for the first time in a few years.”
