Brands Hatch podium for Bassingbourn racer Jenson Mason during BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship season opener

Bassingbourn’s Jenson Mason got his 2024 BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship campaign started in positive fashion over the weekend of 13-14 April.

In race one the 15-year-old made his way through the field to finish in sixth place at Brands Hatch.

And that was followed in the second race as Mason got himself on the podium with a third-placed finish, having started sixth on the grid.

The Bassingbourn Village College pupil then rounded off the season-opening meeting by coming home in fourth position behind his Wera Alliance Racing Academy team-mate Alfie Garford.

Mason wrote on his official Instagram page: “Great weekend at Brands Hatch. Loving every minute of battling at the front of the grid.

“I had great pace all weekend so it was frustrating not to be able to make my challenges for P2 stick in Race 3 due to brake issues, but we’ll get it sorted.”

The BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship season will resume over 18-19 May with a double-header at Snetterton in Norfolk.
