Cambridge United produced a stirring comeback to win 4-2 at Burton Albion in the EFL Trophy, Southern Group H.

It was a bad start for the U's as the hosts took the lead in the third minute.

Lucas Atkins cut in from the right and beat a couple of defenders to fire low past keeper Callum Burton.

It was 2-0 a minute later as Joe Powell scored from 25 yards.

Harvey Knibbs got United back into the match in the 27th minute, tapping home after Luke Hannant's initial shot had been saved.

They were back on level terms in the 31st minute when Hannant hit a half-volley from 35 yards past Burton keeper Kieran O'Hara.

The U's took the lead for the first time in the 80th minute, as Greg Taylor flicked on Harrison Dunk's corner for Harry Darling to head home.

And they made the game safe in the 86th minute, with Joe Ironside bullying his opponent to square for Hannant to finish.

The win means that United progress through to the next stage of the competition.
