Boat Race 2025: Cambridge University Boat Club’s men crew to take on Oxford University Boat Club
Cambridge University Boat Club have enjoyed a positive recent record in the men’s Boat Race.
The Light Blues have triumphed on five of the last six meetings against their old rivals from Oxford University Boat Club, including the clashes in 2023 and 2024.
Below are the eight athletes and cox that will be looking to make it a hat-trick of victories on Sunday.
Bow: Simon Hatcher (Peterhouse)
The American has been rowing competitively since 2014. Has represented the United States at the Under-23 World Rowing Championships.
No 2. Noam Mouelle (Hughes Hall)
Part of the last two winning Men’s crews. Having learned to row on the outskirts of Paris, he is a multiple champion at the French National Championships.
No 3. Luke Beever (Emmanuel)
A two-time member of Cambridge’s reserve boat in 2023 and 2024. Will be the youngest rower in the race at the age of 20.
No 4. Gabriel Mahler (Peterhouse)
Learned to row in Prague after suffering an injury while playing basketball. Has represented the Czech Republic at numerous age-group levels.
No 5. George Bourne (Peterhouse)
The Hauxton-raised rower won a silver medal at the 2022 World Rowing Championships. Was in the same school year as England batsman Zak Crawley and England rugby player Ben Earl.
No 6. James Robson (Peterhouse)
Has been a part of the Great Britain squad since the conclusion of the Tokyo Olympics. Recovered from a serious knee injury in 2023.
No 7. Luca Ferraro (Peterhouse)
Part of the Blue boat in 2022, 2023 and 2024. This year’s Men’s president.
Stroke: Douwe de Graaf (St Edmund’s)
Won gold medals for Great Britain at the World Cup as well as at the Under-19 and Under-23 World Championships.
Cox: Ollie Boyne (Downing)
Been part of the Men’s reserve boat on three previous occasions.
