Dan Nlundulu ‘really enjoying’ Cambridge United loan spell amid Bolton Wanderers return links

Dan Nlundulu has suggested that he would be keen to remain at Cambridge United until the end of the campaign.

The striker joined the U’s towards the end of the summer transfer window on a season-long loan deal from fellow League One side Bolton Wanderers.

However, Nlundulu’s parent club have the option to recall the 25-year-old next month – something that Bolton boss Ian Evatt recently suggested was a possibility.

But having started 13 of Cambridge’s last 14 league matches – scoring four goals along the way – Nlundulu is enjoying life at the Cledara Abbey Stadium.

Speaking after his last-minute penalty earned United a 2-2 draw at Wrexham on Saturday, the former England youth international said: “You never know. Bolton is a great club with great fans.

“But I’m not even thinking about Bolton right now. I watch out for them and see how they’re doing, but right now I’m at Cambridge.

“I’m enjoying my time and I’m enjoying my game time. I’ve struggled with a lot of injuries through not playing much, but now I’m playing and as you can see I’m going Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday.

“I don’t want to jinx it, but I’m only thinking about Cambridge right now. I’m taking it game by game, taking my recovery seriously so I can be ready for the next game and continue to perform the way I am.

“I haven’t heard anything from Bolton but if I was to be recalled that’s a conversation me and my agent will have to have, but I’m really enjoying it at Cambridge so I don’t see why I would move to be honest.

“You never know, but Cambridge is a great club and I’m glad to be here.”
