Oliver Jarvis will be racing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans this August.

The Burwell-based driver has earned a spot in the Risi Competizione Team for the LMP2 class in the prestigious race, which has been rescheduled for August 21 and 22 this season.

The Risi Competizione Team confirmed their entry for Le Mans in early April, fielding an Oreca 07, and they have now confirmed that driving alongside Jarvis and Ryan Cullen will be Brazilian Felipe Nasr.

Team owner Giuseppe Risi has also announced that the same trio will compete in the World Endurance Championship 6 Hours of Monza on July 19 as a prelude to Le Mans.

“Racing at Le Mans never gets old to me,” said Risi.

“We are pleased to add the Risi Competizione name to the LMP2 class history at Le Mans with this year’s effort with Ryan, Oliver and Felipe at the wheel.

“When the prospect to race the car at the 6 Hours of Monza WEC race became an option, we felt it was an excellent opportunity to have the drivers and crew all be able to work together, and with the car, before such a gruelling race as Le Mans.”

Jarvis will be competing for the 10th time at Le Mans, and he has four podium finishes to his name.

He was second in 2017, and third in 2012, 2013 and 2015, and raced with Risi Competizione in 2019 in the Ferrari 488 GTE Evo.

Masr drove for Sauber in Formula One in 2015-16 and was the 12 Hours of Sebring winner in 2019 and the 2018 IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship Prototype winner in 2018.

Risi Competizione competed at Le Mans with 17 entries from 1998 to 2020, and celebrated three victories and seven podium finishes.

Last weekend, Jarvis and Mazda Motorsports team-mate Harry Tincknell were third in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship Acura Sports Car Challenge presented by the TLX Type S at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

After a strong performance, dominating the first half of the race with a 10-second lead at one point, they were beaten to first place by the Wayne Taylor Racing team.

The Whelen Engineering Racing Cadillac DPi was second.

The next stage is the Detroit Grand Prix on June 11 and 12.
