Mixed weekend for Cambridge driver

Rob Huff looked to the positives after a frustrating weekend in the TCR International Series in Germany.

The Cambridge driver was competing for the Leopard Racing Team at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, and after a great start in the first race, he finished on the podium in third place.

But his fortunes changed dramatically in the second race, as Huff was part of a seven-car pile-up at the start, as a pinball effect saw him taken out from behind by Stian Paulsen’s SEAT, having avoided the initial incident.

Huff suffered significant rear-end damage to his Volkswagen Motorsport Golf GTI, ruling it out of the restart after the race had been red flagged.

“The good thing is, my team-mate JK (Vernay) is back in the lead of the championship,” said Huff, “that’s the main goal and we achieved that, so on that side of it, we did a good job.”
