Cambridge University Boat Club name presidents for 2023/24 Boat Race season

Jesus College will provide both the men’s and women’s Cambridge University Boat Club presidents for the 2023/24 season following recent elections.

Seb Benzecry, who has been part of a triumphant Cambridge Boat Race boat in 2021 and again earlier this year, has been named the men’s president.

Currently working towards a PhD in film and screen studies, Benzecry is heading into his fourth year with the club.

New Jersey-raised Jenna Armstrong, meanwhile, has been appointed the women’s president.

The American, who arrived in Cambridge in 2020, has rowed in two winning crews for Cambridge with the 2022 Blondie success being followed by this March’s Boat Race victory.

Armstrong – studying for PhD in physiology – will now be looking to lead the club’s women’s section as they bid to extend the Blue Boat’s ongoing positive six-year streak and Blondie’s seventh.

Magdalene College’s Ben Jones and Lauren Britten will be the lightweight men’s and lightweight women’s presidents respectively.

The duo were both part of this year’s Lightweight Boat Race-winning crews during Cambridge’s memorable clean sweep.
