Foxton Granta, Histon, Cambridge St Giles and Old Leysians all rack up Division One victories
Foxton Granta, Histon, Cambridge St Giles and Old Leysians all celebrated Whitings LLP Cambs & Hunts Premier League Division One victories at the weekend.
Batting first, Ralph Hayward (71) top scored for the hosts alongside a knock of 33 from skipper Lewys Hill at the top of the order.
And while Ramsey got close to their target, Kieran Weatherall (5-42) starred with the ball to help Foxton Granta get themselves over the winning line.
Foxton Granta will have home advantage again on Saturday (August 19) when they entertain March Town.
Elsewhere, a knock of 92 not out from captain Ed Hyde helped Histon (181-3) to run out seven-wicket winners over visiting Southill Park (179).
William Brown (50) also contributed a half century to the cause alongside impressive figures from Ben Kavanagh (3-43) as Histon bowled first.
Hyde’s charges will aim to continue their positive form on Saturday when they make the trip to Eaton Socon.
Aatish Kean Mahara (3-43) and Chris Germon (3-46) both took three wickets apiece for Cambridge St Giles (221-4) in their six-wicket victory away from home at March Town (220-9).
In reply, Kunal Dabas led the way for St Giles with a score of 73 alongside a half century scored by Zaheer Hussain (58).
St Giles will play host to bottom-of-the-table Newmarket this coming weekend.
Joseph Gunn-Roberts (4-20) was the pick of the bowlers as Old Leysians (172-5) won at home by five wickets against Blunham (169).
Andrew Bramley, who also took two wickets, went on to top score for the hosts with 83 off just 66 deliveries.
Old Leysians will be on their travels on Saturday when they will look to get the better of Southill Park.
