Relay glory for City of Cambridge Swimming Club at county championships
Team and individual honours are claimed
Macy Dexter and Oskar Farkas completed a County Swimming Championships season to remember as City of Cambridge signed off on a high.
The final competition of the three-leg series is a relay event, with teams from across Cambridgeshire racing to claim the honour of county relay champions.
It was a close contest all evening, with the rivalry between City of Cambridge and City of Peterborough A teams particularly strong.
But with 12 wins from the 19 events, it was City of Cambridge that took the plaudits with a total of 163 points, compared to City of Peterborough’s 155.
To top off the competition for Cambridge, Dexter, in the 12 years category, and Farkas, at 13 years, were awarded the top girl and boy awards respectively across the championships.
Cambridge head coach James Freezer said: “The county championships have been a huge success.
“There have been many individual performances but I am very proud of the teamwork shown in winning the county relays; great job team.”
