Shelford and Cantabrigian have days to forget
Duo slip into relegation places
Charlie Parkhouse’s try was little reward for Shelford as they suffered a 40-5 defeat at Tring in London & SE Premier.
It was the third game in a row against a top-three side for Shelford, following defeats to leaders Guernsey and Barnes, and they were more than in the match at half time, trailing just 14-0. Tring, however, pulled clear in the second period, with Parkhouse’s try coming after the hosts had established a 33-0 lead.
The result has seen Shelford slip into the bottom three after Westcombe Park’s 24-24 draw with Dorking.
Shelford’s next match is on April 7, at home to bottom club Towcestrians.
In London League 2NE, Cantabrigian have also slipped into the relegation places.
They were beaten 29-17 at home by Wanstead, with Woodford beating Ipswich 43-25 to move out of the bottom two.
Cantabs’ next match is away to Romford & Gidea Park on April 7.
