Cambridge United captain Michael Morrison backs Dan Nlundulu to become ‘real asset’ for the club
Captain Michael Morrison believes that striker Dan Nlundulu has all of the attributes to become a ‘real asset’ for Cambridge United.
The 25-year-old was the 12th and final player to join the U’s during the summer transfer window, with the striker completing his season-long loan switch from fellow League One side Bolton Wanderers on deadline day.
Nlundulu has since gone on to make three appearances – the most recent of which saw him score his first goal for the club from the penalty spot in Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat to Charlton Athletic.
The former Southampton forward first come to Morrison’s attention during a loan stint at Cheltenham Town, and the skipper is confident that he will become a key player for United.
Morrison said: “It was good to see Dan on the pitch and scoring the penalty – that will give him real confidence. I’m really excited to see him play more, I think he’ll be a real asset for us.
“During the seasons when I play against people, I like to write their names down and Dan was somebody I picked up when he was Cheltenham and I was at Portsmouth.
“He was a real threat. Physically he can take that pressure and he can run in behind – he’s got a bit of both.
“A lone striker suits him well because he brings others into play and he’s got a bit of shoulder movement to wriggle off people.”
