Histon announce departures of Luke Young and Mattia D’Angelo to Eynesbury Rovers and Godmanchester Rovers respectively

Following Saturday’s 2-1 win over Bugbrooke St Michaels, Histon have announced a couple of player departures.

Luke Young, who joined the club in the summer from Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division side Lakenheath, has moved on after scoring two goals in 21 appearances for the club.

The attacker has joined fellow United Counties League Premier Division South outfit Eynesbury Rovers and he marked his debut for his new club with a brace during the weekend’s 5-1 thrashing of Yaxley.

In making the move to the Alfred Hall Memorial Ground, Young has linked up with former Histon players Sam Roach and Oliver Brookes.

Meanwhile, Mattia D’Angelo has secured a switch to neighbouring Godmanchester Rovers.

The midfielder made featured on 17 occasions for Chris Nunn’s team this term after progressing through Histon’s Under-18s side.

D’Angelo could now feature against his former club when Histon travel to face bottom-of-the-table Godmanchester on Boxing Day.
