Histon face hectic end to season after being pegged back by Coventry United
Histon ended a sequence of back-to-back defeats with a 2-2 draw at home against Coventry United on Saturday.
However, the Stutes are likely to have been frustrated at the final whistle having seen a 2-0 half-time lead evaporate at Bridge Road as the visitors struck back with two late goals to salvage a share of the spoils.
Luke Crisp’s header put Histon in front after just seven minutes, with the lead being doubled by Luke Lindsay’s 44th-minute effort from Max York’s long throw.
And the scoreline remained that way until the 85th minute when United substitute Adam Miles halved the deficit before Joe Blowers equalised two minutes from time.
Lance Key’s men, who remain sixth in the Uhlsport United Counties League Premier Division South table, had been due to travel to Eynesbury Rovers on Easter Monday, only for the game to be called off because of a waterlogged pitch. The game has since been rescheduled for Thursday, April 20, which means Histon will finish their 2022/23 campaign with a run of four games in eight days.
It starts on Saturday (April 15) with a trip to Desborough Town, which is followed by the visit of Easington Sports on Tuesday (April 18).
Key’s men will then make a short journey to Eynesbury before the curtain comes down on the season at Long Buckby on Saturday, April 22.
