Tobi Fayomi has silver success for Cambridge Dive Team
Medals galore at two regattas
Tobi Fayomi has dived on to the podium with silver success at two separate competitions.
The seven-year-old was part of a large Cambridge Dive Team squad out in force at the Shipley Novices event, in Bradford, and the Albatross Inter-Club, in Reading.
Fayomi scored highly on her pike fall off 1m, and produced a very impressive backward line up dive on the 3m board to take the medals.
There were also top-10 finishes at both events for Rufus Bord (sixth) in the eight to nine category; Daniel Millard (seventh and ninth) in the 12 to 13 category; and Benodet Houston-Campbell (sixth) in the 14 to 15 section.
At Shipley, Daniel Lock was ninth in the eight to nine event and Autumn Cowell was 10th in the 14 to 15 category, while at Albatross, Max Burnell was ninth in the eight to nine age group and Molly McGregor was ninth in the 10 to 11 section.
Cambridge Dive Team also had great success at the East Region Age Group Championships in Southend.
Olivia Blower won the girls’ 16 to 18 platform event.
In the boys’ 12 to 13 section, Albie Vaughan was first on the 1m board, with Kyron Roberts second, and then Roberts took silver on the 3m and Vaughan claimed bronze, with the positions reversed on the platform.
Dominic Jaunzens won silver medals on the 3m and platform events, and bronze on the 1m board in the 13 to 14 age group.
Elora Graham won silver on the 1m and 3m boards in the girls’ 14 to 15 events.
Frankie Webb earned silver medals in the girls’ 12 to 13 1m, 3m and platform events.
Team-mate Catherine Lopez missed out on a medal by less than a point in the 3m events, and was also fourth in the 1m.
