Cambridge United sign Nottingham Forest striker Esapa Osong on loan for the rest of the season
Cambridge United have boosted their attacking options by bringing in a striker on loan from Nottingham Forest.
Esapa Osong has joined the U’s for the rest of the season from Premier League Nottingham Forest.
The 20-year-old spent the first half of the season at Rotherham United but was recalled by Forest midway through what was due to be a season-long loan after making just one league start.
Osong said: “I am really excited to get going - I just want to play football now. It’s a big opportunity for me and I am ready to take it.”
Manager Garry Monk said: “I am delighted to welcome Esapa to the club.
“He is highly regarded, has all the attributes needed to be a success and is hungry to do well. I am looking forward to working with him over the coming months.”
Osong will wear the number 21 shirt for the U’s and could feature – ironically against the club he has just left – when Cambridge visit Rotherham on Tuesday night.
