Cambridge United to face Ipswich Town and Barnet in pre-season friendly fixtures

Cambridge United have confirmed their first two pre-season friendlies of the summer.

The U’s will play host to Ipswich Town at the Abbey Stadium on Saturday, July 22, with the match kicking off at 12pm.

The Tractor Boys, who were promoted to Sky Bet Championship at the end of last season, played out a 1-1 draw on their most recent visit to the Abbey in February.

Meanwhile, United have also confirmed that their final warm-up fixture before their 2023/24 Sky Bet League One campaign gets under way on Saturday, August 5 will be away at Barnet on Saturday, July 29 (3pm).

Barnet finished fifth in the National League last term but were denied a return to the Football League following a play-off defeat to Boreham Wood.

Cambridge last met Barnet in a league fixture back in December 2017 when a goal from George Maris sealed a 1-0 victory.
