U’s looking to clip Canaries’ wings to seal progress in FA Cup

Cambridge United Women return to action this weekend with the visit of Norwich City in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup first round proper on Sunday (3 November).

Like the U’s, the Canaries ply their trade in The FA Women's National League Division One South East and currently sit second in the standings.

The two sides met in the second game of the campaign on 25 August which saw hosting Norwich score two unanswered goals to claim the three points.

While they will be seeking for revenge on the Canaries, Darren Marjoram’s side will also be hoping to carry the momentum from their 1-0 win at home to Charlton Athletic Academy last time out, as they progressed to the third round of the FA Women’s National League Plate thanks to Isabella Simmons’ 12th-minute strike.

Goals from Sarah Wiltshire, Abbie Jackson and Rosy Woodhams secured Cambridge the tie with Norwich after United defeated Real Bedford 3-1 in the third qualifying round on 13 October.

The ninth-placed U’s will then host QPR on Sunday, 10 November.
